A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett

First things first, how gorgeous is this Puffin in Bloom cover?!? I absolutely love it, I want to get the “Little Women” copy as well!

When I was younger I remember watching “A Little Princess” over and over but I never read the book. I don’t recall knowing there was a book until high school when  a teacher talked about it. I finally got my own copy and breezed through it, I gave it a 5 out of 5 stars.

I will say that the way the main character thinks is a bit odd and takes some time to adjust to but once you understand her, its quite amazing! Ive always loved books with a main character who is kind to everyone and with this young girl, being kind to even the meanest people is inspiring.

The main character, is very young, and is in a boarding school until her father returns from the war. The one difference between the book and the movie is the ending. In the movie the father returns and the girls friend is adopted by him and they are both brought home with the girls father. The book however, presents the father as having passed away. I won’t say the rest of the ending but, as sad as it is, it is also a happy ending in some ways.

Here are some places you can purchase the book:

Much love,
