The Possibility of Somewhere by Julia Day

*Disclaimer: I won this book from a giveaway hosted on Goodreads by Griffin Teen*

This is the first book I have won from a giveaway and it makes me super happy because I was really looking forward to reading this book! It was really good and I could relate to many of the characters. I gave this a 5 out of 5 stars, the cover is beautiful and it was really cool that Griffin included a bookmark.

The book is easy to read and understand, the characters are realistic most of the time. I think it does talk about a lot of issues that we as a society try to overlook like mental disabilities, learning disabilities, family dysfunction and parental toxicity. I was impressed by the author in how she handled writing a character with autism, she didn’t make the character seem stupid or overly dramatic. I often times think people judge those with mental disabilities and say they want attention but its because they dont understand what that person is going through.

My brother had severe ADHD growing up and all his teachers and peers thought he was just a bad kid looking for attention or trying to be disobident. He wasn’t, he just couldnt learnt he same way that his peers did. He is doing much better now but sometimes I have to remember that he may not always catch on as quickly as others. He is so smart and so talented. I would beat up anyone who made fun of him or picked on him, I was the only one allowed to do those things.

I really appreciated this book, I read it in two days, I didn’t want to put it down, it just draws you in. Its about a girl and a boy who are both at the top of their class and are trying to achieve the same things but have different struggles. I really recommend this to anyone in high school who is about to graduate.
