*Disclaimer: I was sent this book to read and review by Thomas Nelson via Harper Collins*
If you’ve read a decent amount of Christian books, you know that, most of them end with a happy twist at the end. A miracle or great thing happens in almost every single one. In “Unreasonable Hope” that is not the case. I am so glad that the author was honest that his little one still had not had a miracle and they are still waiting.
This book is very convicting, and because of the honesty of the author, everyone who reads it will be hit in the heart. If you have been a Christian all your life or not, it will definitely get you thinking. Its amazing to hear about such hope, and how someone can have great hope in such a seemingly hopeless situation. The fact that the author is totally sold out to the idea, and the knowledge of Christ one day healing his daughter is wonderful.
I gave this book a 5 out of 5 stars, and I hope the author writes more books. If I were in his shoes, Im not sure how I would handle the situation. I am a mommy to a smiley, bright and beautiful five month old baby boy. If something had happened to him, our “miracle” baby, I don’t know if I would be able to drag myself out of bed most days. Not only does the author deal so well with this but his wife is so strong. This is something that seems so awful but God is working through.
The way the author directs everything to God and having hope in Him is very well done and never goes off track. Its also refreshing to read something by a pastor that is not so formal and has language that even millennial can understand easily. I think its good to have humor in books like this. I applaud the author on his honesty as I said, that was my favorite part about the book.
I would definitely recommend picking this book up!
