Hope Prevails by Dr. Michelle Bengtson

*Disclaimer: I reviewed this book from Revell books to read and review*

Growing up I have been around a number of people who suffer from depression, my mom and two of my closest friends, and one of my childhood friends. This book showed me how to better encourage and understand them. While I don’t suffer from depression, i do suffer from Social anxiety and I know that sometimes I can feel the same things they feel.

This book wasn’t too long and was easy to read and understand, I love how the author included playlists at the end of each chapter. I gave this book a 4 out of 5 stars, I felt that sometimes it became a little bogged down in receptiveness. However, that being said, it was still a wonderful, insightful and informational book. I was encouraged by it and agreed with a lot of what the author said.

I think it is important to read books like this even when you don’t suffer from whatever the author is talking about because they can provide clues into how to love, help and support the people around us. I hope that this author comes out with more books and I intend to see if she has written any others.
