“What if you aren’t the Chosen One? The one who’s supposed to fight the zombies or the soul-eating ghosts or whatever the heck this new thing is with the blue lights and the death?

What if you’re like Mikey? Who just wants to graduate and go to prom and maybe finally work up the courage to ask Henna out before someone goes and blows up the high school. Again.

Because sometimes there are problems bigger than this week’s end of the world, and sometimes you just have to find the extraordinary in your ordinary life.

Even if your best friend is worshipped by mountain lions.”

I listened to this on audible, Ive been doing the free trial to see how I like it, and for a mom who works and has a toddler and a baby it makes it easier to get some books in.

The introduction of several mental health issues is really what made me interested in this book. I don’t necessarily think that the way the mental health issues play out are accurate but I do appreciate that they are being brought to light more. One of the characters, Nathan, I suppose was supposed to be a plot twist character but for me, I figured out the situation before it played out. It wasn’t too hard to decipher what would happen.

All in all it was enjoyable to listen to and the narrator did a good job with the characters, I gave this a 3/5 stars.
